The MS 500i is the world’s first chainsaw with electronically controlled injection . The innovative STIHL Injection injection technology ensures optimal engine performance and excellent starting behavior regardless of altitude and ambient temperature. Sensors measure air pressure, indoor and outdoor temperature and pass the information on to the control unit. This can optimally determine the fuel quantity and ignition timing using the determined values. As a result, fuel metering is ensured by opening and closing the valve. STIHL Injection therefore stands for rapid acceleration with extremely high performance and low weight :

The electronically controlled injection takes place in the proven STIHL 2-MIX engine , which offers high performance with low consumption. The HD2 air filter, the captive nuts on the sprocket cover, the volume-adjustable oil pump, the tool-free tank cap and the side chain tension round off the top equipment.
